Inspired Home Show Trade Show Booth Rentals

A housewares buyer has seen ten thousand products. The booth has to make yours the one they pick up.

Fixed-price exhibits for The Inspired Home Show — design, fabrication, graphics, freight, installation and dismantle in one number that doesn’t move. Pre-built, lit and photo-approved before it ships, so the booth that meets retail buyers from around the world in Chicago has already stood up once, powered and checked, on our floor.

The kind of booth a category buyer lingers in

This show exists for top-to-top meetings between housewares suppliers and the retailers who decide what reaches the shelf. Buyers arrive with appointments, a list of categories and very little time, and they judge a line by how it looks merchandised — because that is how their customers will meet it. The work below is what we build for companies whose product sells in the hand: structures that present a line the way a great store would, with a proper table to write the order at, carried by one team from first rendering to dismantle.

Know the floor before you plan the booth

Here the booth is a store. Buyers shop it like one.

Housewares is sold on shelf presence, so the strongest booths on this floor are merchandised environments rather than exhibits: product at hand height, lit like retail, grouped the way a planogram would group it, with live demonstration where the product earns it. The show floor is organised by category across McCormick Place’s halls, which puts you beside your direct competitors and makes that presentation the deciding difference.

McCormick Place — two halls, by category

South Hall · North Hall

The show groups its core categories together and gives global sourcing its own hall, so buyers work the floor category by category with your competitors a few steps away. McCormick Place is also one of the most tightly run buildings in the country for labour and freight. We design to your hall and position, and we plan the labour call and dock schedule rather than leaving them to show week.

Live demos need plumbing and approval

Cooking · water · small electrics

Cookware, small appliances and cleaning products sell best running — which means dedicated circuits, often water and drainage, ventilation, and the fire marshal’s approval for any cooking. Those services are ordered client-direct from the venue and must be planned into the structure, not added beside it. We build the demo counter around the utilities and file the orders and approvals in advance.

The March calendar

Samples, holidays and winter freight

A March show puts the advance-order cutoff in mid-January, with the holiday break inside the approval period and sample shipments often leaving overseas factories ahead of Lunar New Year shutdowns. Freight into Chicago in late winter adds weather risk. We ship with margin and merchandise the booth with your samples on our floor first, so gaps are found in February, not on opening morning.

What we handle at McCormick Place
  • Retail-grade merchandising — shelving, fixtures and lighting designed around your line
  • Demo counters engineered for power, water, drainage and fire-marshal approval
  • Layout submission and show approval, filed early
  • Electrical, plumbing, rigging and material handling orders calculated and filed at advance rates
  • Union labour call planned and supervised on site
  • COI, EAC and exhibitor-manual deadlines mapped to our calendar
  • Dismantle, pack and outbound freight
Billed by the show, not by us

Booth space, electrical, drayage, rigging and cleaning are billed to every exhibitor directly by the show, the venue or the show’s general contractor — no exhibit house can absorb them and none should claim to. What we do is calculate them for your exact booth before you commit, and file every order at advance rather than floor rates.

  • Booth space
  • Electrical drops and floor distribution
  • Material handling (drayage)
  • Rigging, if you’re hanging a sign
  • Daily cleaning · internet
Why a fixed price matters most here

The budget you present in autumn should survive March

Trade show invoices have a habit of growing between quote and show: labour hours over estimate, revisions rebilled as change orders, graphics reprints, supervision time nobody flagged. Our model is the opposite — the number you approve is the number you pay, contractually. Design revisions are unlimited until you approve. The quote and the final invoice are the same document.

01

One number, and it holds

Design, fabrication, graphics, furniture, lighting, freight, installation, dismantle and project management in a single fixed price.

02

Proven before it ships

Your booth stands fully assembled and lit at our 65,000 sq ft facility, and you approve photographs of the actual build — not a render.

03

Show costs, known up front

Space, electrical, drayage and rigging calculated for your exact booth before you commit — so the total is a number, not a range.

04

The paperwork is ours

COI, EAC, electrical, network, rigging, freight windows — filed at advance rates, mapped to every exhibitor-manual deadline. Nothing lands on your desk three days before it’s due.

We quote higher and cost less. That’s the whole argument, and it’s why every booth below is published with its price rather than hidden behind a “request a quote” form.

Working backwards from March

Your real deadline is in mid-January

The advance-order cutoff lands roughly eight weeks before the show — the exact date is in the facts strip at the top of this page, and it updates automatically each edition. For a March show that puts the binding constraint in mid-January, with the holiday break and the factory calendar both sitting inside your approval period.

Take this to every vendor

Five questions to ask anyone quoting your Inspired Home Show booth

Put these to every exhibit house you’re comparing — including us. They separate the vendors that stand behind a number from the ones whose estimate is an opening position. Our answers are printed here so you can hold us to them.

1 Will you put the total price in writing before I sign — and hold it? Ours: yes. Every booth on this page is published with its price. The quote and the final invoice are the same number, contractually. Printed above · hold us to it
2 Do design revisions become change orders? Ours: never. Revisions are unlimited until you approve, and the price is locked before design starts — a better idea in November costs nothing.
3 Will I see my actual booth before it ships — or a render? Ours: the actual booth, fully assembled, powered and lit at our facility, photographed for your sign-off before it leaves for Chicago. Renders are promises; photographs are evidence.
4 Who files my advance show orders, and at which rate? Ours: we do, at advance rates, mapped to every exhibitor-manual deadline. Running demos add electrical, water and drainage to the order, and at McCormick Place the advance-versus-floor spread on all three is real money — if a vendor can’t answer this immediately, that’s your answer.
5 Will the booth be merchandised before it ships, or on the show floor? Ours: before — with your actual samples, at our facility, photographed for your approval. Because fixtures that are a shelf short or a light that flattens the product should be discovered weeks ahead, not the night before buyers arrive. Ask them directly.

Questions Inspired Home Show exhibitors actually ask

Inspired Home Show booth rental FAQs

How much does an Inspired Home Show booth rental cost?
Every booth on this page is published with its Chicago price — fixed and all-inclusive: design, fabrication, graphics, furniture, freight, labour coordination and project management. Separately, the show, the venue and the show’s general contractor bill you directly for booth space, electrical, plumbing, drayage, rigging and cleaning; we calculate those for your exact booth before you commit, so the total is known before you sign anything.
When should I book a booth for The Inspired Home Show?
Lock your design by mid-January. The advance-order deadlines for a March show fall just after the holiday break, so approvals need to happen before it — start the conversation in late summer for full design freedom. The exact advance-order deadline for the next edition is in the facts strip at the top of this page and updates automatically.
Can the booth display a full product line the way a store would?
That is how we design it: retail-grade shelving and fixtures sized to your assortment, lighting that shows finish and colour accurately, and product grouped the way a buyer’s planogram would group it. The booth is merchandised with your samples on our floor and photographed for your approval before it ships.
We want live cooking or a running-water demo. What does that involve?
Dedicated circuits, water supply and drainage ordered from the venue, ventilation where needed, and fire-marshal approval for any cooking. Those services are billed to you directly; we design the demo counter around them, file the orders at advance rates and handle the approval paperwork.
What are the labour rules at McCormick Place?
McCormick Place runs on union labour with specific rules about what exhibitors may do themselves, and the general contractor controls the docks. It isn’t your problem to manage: we plan the labour call, supervise the install on site and file everything at advance rather than floor rates, all inside our fixed price.
Will a rental look custom, or will it look reused?
Every booth is fabricated for your brand — custom graphics, layout, lighting and finishes on a modular structure underneath. The builds shown above are rentals. Before yours ships, it stands fully assembled and lit at our facility and you approve photographs of the actual booth, not a render.
What happens if something goes wrong during move-in?
Your project manager and our install supervisor are on site through move-in and reachable across show days. Because everything was assembled and checked before shipping, the problems that usually surface at this stage — missing hardware, graphics that don’t fit, panels that won’t seat — have already been found and fixed on our floor, weeks earlier.
A vendor just fell through. How fast can you deliver a booth for this show?
Four to six weeks from approval to show floor for complete pre-built, photo-verified booths from 10×10 through 20×40 — at the same fixed price as a six-month lead time, with no rush surcharge. For a March show, the earlier in the winter you call, the more of that window sits at advance rather than floor rates.
Do you handle buyer dinners and hospitality during show week?
Yes — hotel suites, buyer dinners and hosted evenings in downtown Chicago run under the same fixed-price model, coordinated by the same project manager as your booth.
