FPSS Trade Show Booth Rentals

Food manufacturers walk this floor with a plant problem to solve. Your booth has to look like a solution, not a sales pitch.

Fixed-price Food Production Solutions Show exhibits — design, fabrication, graphics, freight, union labour coordination, installation and dismantle in one number that doesn’t move. Pre-built, lit and photo-approved before it ships, so the booth that greets food processors, co-packers and plant engineers in Chicago has already stood up once, powered and checked, on our floor.

The kind of booth plant managers trust

FPSS is organised around how a food business grows — product development, compliance, production and scale — and the people walking it are operations, quality and engineering leaders who evaluate equipment for a living. They expect to see stainless up close, watch a line run and ask hard questions about sanitation and throughput. The work below is what we build for packaging, processing and industrial technology companies: structures engineered around working equipment and a clean, food-grade finish, with every project moving through one team from first rendering to dismantle.

Know the floor before you plan the booth

A first edition means nobody has a plan to copy.

FPSS is a new show — the successor to EATS and PROCESS EXPO, rebuilt by Messe Frankfurt and the Food Processing Suppliers Association around four Solution Zones that follow a manufacturer’s journey rather than a product category. There is no last-year floor plan, no traffic pattern to rely on and no colleague who exhibited here before. That rewards exhibitors who plan from McCormick Place’s rules rather than from habit, and it makes the zone your booth is placed in the first design decision, not the last.

McCormick Place, on its own system

Union jurisdictions · marshalling yard

Whatever the show is called, the building doesn’t change: union trades own their scope, freight enters through the marshalling yard against an assigned target date and drayage is billed by the hundredweight. Heavy processing equipment and wash-down demos raise the stakes on all three. We plan crate weights, floor loading and utility routing to the hall on your contract, and book the target date so nothing waits in the yard.

Four zones, four audiences

Development · compliance · production · scale

The floor is sorted by where a manufacturer is in its growth, so a booth in the compliance zone talks to quality managers while one in the production zone talks to plant engineers. The same equipment needs a different story in each. We design the message, the demo and the meeting space to the zone you’ve been placed in — and for live equipment, we size the power, water and drainage orders through the show and venue at advance rates.

A late-October calendar

Advance deadline in early September

An October show puts the advance-order cutoff in the first week of September, straight after the summer holidays and inside the same window as PACK EXPO planning for many of the same suppliers. The real deadline for a locked design is early September; miss it and electrical, drayage and rigging move to floor rates while your competitors’ booths are already built.

What we handle at McCormick Place
  • Zone-specific design — message, demo and meeting space planned for where the show has placed you
  • Layout submission and show approval, filed early
  • Electrical, water, drain, compressed air, rigging and drayage orders calculated for your equipment and filed at advance rates
  • Union labour coordination and on-site supervision across every trade’s jurisdiction
  • COI, EAC and exhibitor-manual deadlines mapped to our calendar — including a first edition’s moving targets
  • Marshalling-yard target date, dock routing, dismantle and outbound freight
Billed by the show, not by us

Booth space, electrical, drayage, rigging and cleaning are billed to every exhibitor directly by the show, the venue or the show’s general contractor — no exhibit house can absorb them and none should claim to. What we do is calculate them for your exact booth before you commit, and file every order at advance rather than floor rates.

  • Booth space
  • Electrical drops and floor distribution
  • Material handling (drayage)
  • Rigging, if you’re hanging a sign
  • Daily cleaning · internet
Why a fixed price matters most here

The budget you present in spring should survive October

Trade show invoices have a habit of growing between quote and show: labour hours over estimate, revisions rebilled as change orders, graphics reprints, supervision time nobody flagged. Our model is the opposite — the number you approve is the number you pay, contractually. Design revisions are unlimited until you approve. The quote and the final invoice are the same document.

01

One number, and it holds

Design, fabrication, graphics, furniture, lighting, freight, installation, dismantle and project management in a single fixed price.

02

Proven before it ships

Your booth stands fully assembled and lit at our 65,000 sq ft facility, and you approve photographs of the actual build — not a render.

03

Show costs, known up front

Space, electrical, drayage and rigging calculated for your exact booth before you commit — so the total is a number, not a range.

04

The paperwork is ours

COI, EAC, electrical, network, rigging, freight windows — filed at advance rates, mapped to every exhibitor-manual deadline. Nothing lands on your desk three days before it’s due.

We quote higher and cost less. That’s the whole argument, and it’s why every booth below is published with its price rather than hidden behind a “request a quote” form.

Working backwards from October

Your real deadline is in early September

The advance-order cutoff lands roughly eight weeks before the show — the exact date is in the facts strip at the top of this page, and it updates automatically each edition. For a late-October show that puts the binding constraint in the first week of September, when your team is just back from summer and PACK EXPO deadlines are competing for the same attention.

Five questions to ask anyone quoting your FPSS booth

Put these to every exhibit house you’re comparing — including us. They separate the vendors that stand behind a number from the ones whose estimate is an opening position. Our answers are printed here so you can hold us to them.

1 Will you put the total price in writing before I sign — and hold it? Ours: yes. Every booth on this page is published with its price. The quote and the final invoice are the same number, contractually. Printed above · hold us to it
2 Do design revisions become change orders? Ours: never. Revisions are unlimited until you approve, and the price is locked before design starts — a better idea in July costs nothing.
3 Will I see my actual booth before it ships — or a render? Ours: the actual booth, fully assembled, powered and lit at our facility, photographed for your sign-off before it leaves for Chicago. Renders are promises; photographs are evidence.
4 Who files my advance show orders, and at which rate? Ours: we do, at advance rates, mapped to every exhibitor-manual deadline. With processing equipment that needs water, drainage, compressed air and three-phase power, the advance-versus-floor spread at FPSS is real money — if a vendor can’t answer this immediately, that’s your answer.
5 This is the show’s first edition. How do you plan for a floor nobody has exhibited on? Ours: from the building, not the brand. McCormick Place’s union rules, marshalling yard and utility ordering don’t change with the show’s name, and we’ve run them for PACK EXPO, IMTS and the NRA Show for years. We track the first-edition exhibitor manual as it’s released, and design to your Solution Zone once placement is confirmed. Any vendor promising you last year’s traffic pattern for a show that hasn’t happened yet is guessing.

Questions FPSS exhibitors actually ask

FPSS booth rental FAQs

How much does an FPSS booth rental cost?
Every booth on this page is published with its Chicago price — fixed and all-inclusive: design, fabrication, graphics, furniture, freight, union labour coordination and project management. Separately, the show, McCormick Place and the show’s general contractor bill you directly for booth space, electrical, plumbing, drayage, rigging and cleaning; we calculate those for your exact booth and equipment before you commit, so the total is known before you sign anything.
When should I book a booth for FPSS?
Lock your design by the first week of September. Advance-order deadlines for a late-October show land straight after the summer holidays — start the conversation in spring for full design freedom, and earlier if you’re bringing running equipment that needs engineered utilities. The exact advance-order deadline for the next edition is in the facts strip at the top of this page and updates automatically.
What’s move-in like at McCormick Place for FPSS?
Freight enters through the marshalling yard against an assigned target date and is billed per hundredweight; union crews handle the install under each trade’s jurisdiction. Heavy processing equipment gets its own target dates and floor-load checks. We book the target date, keep the crate weights honest, coordinate the equipment delivery and put an install supervisor on site so your team never has to learn McCormick’s system themselves.
Our booth runs live processing equipment — a filler, a wash-down line, a packaging cell. Can you handle the utilities?
Yes, and it’s the most important planning conversation for an FPSS booth. We engineer the structure around your equipment — footprint, drip containment, cable and hose routing, sightlines into the machine — then calculate the electrical, water, drain and compressed-air orders it actually needs. Those services are billed to you directly by the show and venue, but we file them at advance rates and verify everything against the booth as built on our floor.
Will a rental look custom, or will it look reused?
Every booth is fabricated for your brand — custom graphics, layout, lighting and finishes on a modular structure underneath. The builds shown above are rentals. Before yours ships, it stands fully assembled and lit at our facility and you approve photographs of the actual booth, not a render.
Can I install the booth myself to save on labour?
Not at McCormick Place. Union jurisdictions govern who may build, wire and rig what, and the show’s general contractor enforces them — an exhibitor-installed booth is limited to small pop-up structures with no tools. It isn’t your problem to arrange either way: union labour coordination and on-site supervision are inside our fixed price, filed at advance rather than floor rates.
What happens if something goes wrong during move-in?
Your project manager and our install supervisor are on site through move-in and reachable across show days. Because everything was assembled and checked before shipping, the problems that usually surface at this stage — missing hardware, graphics that don’t fit, panels that won’t seat — have already been found and fixed on our floor, weeks earlier.
A vendor just fell through. How fast can you deliver an FPSS booth?
Four to six weeks from approval to show floor for complete pre-built, photo-verified booths from 10×10 through 20×40 — at the same fixed price as a six-month lead time, with no rush surcharge. For a late-October show, the earlier in September you call, the more of that window sits at advance rather than floor rates.
Do you handle events off the show floor — suites, receptions, satellite activations?
Yes — hotel suites, meeting spaces and satellite activations around McCormick Place and downtown Chicago run under the same fixed-price model, coordinated by the same project manager as your booth.
